Healthy well-maintained turf and landscape is integral to your home’s curb appeal. Our 7–Step Lawn Care Program is designed specifically for the local area to control weeds and give your lawn a beautiful appearance.
Our 7-step program begins as the winter weather breaks, usually around mid-February each year. We continue through until around mid-November. Exact timing of each application depends on the specific weather patterns of the season.
Our program is designed with years of experience to yield the best results for your lawn. We will get you the color and weed control you are looking for!
Round 1
Getting off on the right foot, our first application is a high-nitrogen fertilizer with crabgrass and weed control. This helps the lawn recover from winter stress, green-up faster, and gets a crabgrass barrier on the soil.
Round 2
Our second application adds more fertilizer to keep your lawn green and healthy. Additional weed control and another round of crabgrass preventative are included.
Round 3
Heading into Summer, we reduce the fertilizer rate as temperatures rise. This time of the year, the focus is on controlling weeds and treating for nutsedge as it begins to emerge.
Round 4
As Summer heat sets in, we continue to control weeds including nutsedge – or what some folks refer to as watergrass.
Round 5
As Summer comes to a close, the turf needs help recovering. We will increase the fertilizer rates and continue to control broadleaf weeds and nuisance grasses.
Round 6
This application continues to help the lawn recover from Summer with another round of high nitrogen fertilizer and weed control. Typically this is applied in September, when it’s also time to start thinking about aeration and overseeding to help turf repair and recover from the stress of Summer heat and humidity.
Round 7
A final fertilizer application before winter gives your grass the essential nutrients it needs to “weather” the winter months. The grass roots absorb and store the nutrients. Then, in the Spring, your grass taps into those stored nutrients – giving it a head start making it green and lush.
